PROMORIVER

Edirneriver workshop organized by Association for Promoting Edirne and Tourism on 18th Jan 2015 and the officials who are authorized about the rivers were all invited.The Promoriver project executives ,the official authorities, the line faculty and the university students took part in this workshop. They discussed the protection activities for the rivers in Edirne where the three rivers meeting point and the people live together within the rivers. The workshop began with the presentations and giving general information about the promoriver project by the connecting person, Assoc. prof. Emel GONENC GULER and the projects representative of the Edirne Association, Bulent BACIOGLU and following with the presentations about the geography structure of the rivers in Edirne and around by university teachers. Those presentations were reported in the end of the meeting in the discussion and recommendation session. The current protection position of Edirne Rivers, the probably threatens for the rivers, precautionsshould be taken were written in the main part of the report. Especially the flood which has become international problem for Edirne handled.In the workshop all the participant pointed that the flood should be examined as geographical. In the end of the workshop, all the participants were agree with the must of the legally authorized associations about rivers should follow a sustainable managing way for protecting the rivers.
