Meeting description

Partners from Portugal, Greece, Turkey and the Czech Republic were present at the first partnership meeting.

The project was introduced to the partners at the Water Pavillion, followed by a visit to this local attraction.

Pedro Teiga of Projeto Rios (River Project) introduced the monitoring and conservation aspects of a river restoration project, with an example at a local river in Porto.

Day two involved a visit to the Biological Park of Avintes, with the finalisation of the partnership meeting by the coordinators. The afternoon allowed for free time with many of the participants visiting the Serralves Park and Museum.

On the final day a tree planting activity was organised at the Rio Tinto, a river running through Porto, where many of the participants helped the local community plant trees to aid the restoration of vegetation on the river banks.
